Iluminado Vinos de la Luz

ARGENTINA

Iluminado Vinos de La Luz Uco Valley Altamira Region

These Malbec grapes, grown in Altamira, are made into wine after they have macerated for a long time to keep the maximum integrity of the fruit. During fermentation, the temperature is kept below 28°C. The wine matures in 160-liter French oak barrels for 12 months and rests for another 12 months before reaching the hands of those who will be able to drink it. The vineyards that produce this wine were planted by immigrants who arrived in Argentina in the early twentieth century.
In the Uco Valley of the province of Mendoza, the vineyards, trained under the traditional Guyot system, grow on alluvial soils at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, overlooking the Andes Mountains.

SPAIN

Iluminado Vinos de La Luz Ribera del Duero

This wine is made from grapes grown on old vines at an altitude of 762 metres above sea level, in reddish, iron-rich soils bordering the River Duero, one of the wine-growing areas with the most continental climate in Europe.

Tempranillo is a very old variety grown by the Iberian people before the peninsular was colonised by the Roman Empire; it has grown in this area for over 2000 years.

Iluminado Vinos de La Luz Montalcino, Toscana

At the bottom of Monte Amiata, at 420 metros above sea level, the Sangiovese grapes are grown for Iluminado Vinos de La Luz. The unharnessed, rocky soils furnish the identity and tradition of Montalcino, the most beautiful valley in Tuscany.

USA

Iluminado Vinos de La Luz Bien Nacido, Santa María, California

These Syrah grapes – grown in Santa Maria Valley, on California’s Central Coast – come from the Bien Nacido vineyard, where we have identified a very special section: Block Z. The coastal climate, with cool Pacific fog, creates long harvest seasons, an ideal environment for producing a red wine with personality, freshness and balance.
